Birmingham National Pet show

Recently we attended the National Pet Show at the Birmingham NEC and one of our volunteers wrote this small piece about the weekend.

Mayo, Maise, Blondie, Brave and I packed up our bedding and chicken scratch and took our humans away for the weekend as a treat.

We spent two eggcellent days at the National Pet Show

On the morning of the first day the humans busied themselves ensuring our food was full and our water was nice and fresh whilst us ladies preened our feathers and rearranged the pen.

All was quiet, and then the doors of the show opened. Visitors flooded the hall. Many lovely visitors came by to give us lots of cuddles and talk to our humans.

Our humans love to talk & we love cuddles so we were all happy.

Our humans were telling all of the lovely people about Fresh Start for Hens and the work they do.

We told all of the small people that came by how great we are; we even showed them how nicely we can eat out of their small hands.

The second day of the show was just as busy. A few of our feathery friends joined the humans so they could get cuddles too. The stars of the second day were Wonky Joan, May, Mabel & Random Stella.

Lots of new people were asking how they reserve hens like us. We clucked away all day telling them that they had to go to www.fsfh.org.uk to save more of us hens.

It was a great weekend at the National Pet Show and it was lovely to meet new friends of Fresh Start for Hens. Check out the photos in our Gallery.
